CyberTractor/ CyberDrone
Tractor and Drone Hacking. A week-long Cybersecurity challenge with professionals.
🚧 Work in Progress
CyberDrone
I was given a great opportunity to be part of the first ever CyberDrone Event! Held in Camp Grayling, Michigan, the CyberDrone challenge was a week-long event where industry professionals from Security companies, researchers, and government organizations came together to uncover exploits in modern drones.
Over the course of the week, we were able to identify and exploit vulnerabilities in drones, and then develop and implement solutions to mitigate those vulnerabilities. We also had the opportunity to fly drones and learn about the latest drone technology.
- here are some of the things we learned:
- Real-world captured drone forensic analysis
- Hardware Reverse Engineering
- Software Reverse Engineering
- Cellular Attacks (IMSI Catcher, MITM cellular traffic)
- Drone RF Attacks
- Reverse Engineering of Drone Firmware
The Challenge
At the end of the week, we were allowed to tinker with the drones and ultimately reversed engineered one of the drones and found vulnerabilities on the firmware. We attempted to exploit it to gain full control of the drone.
